Philanthropy

From the time of our founding, Alpha Delta Pi has believed in the importance of giving back to our community. A dedication to philanthropy guides our members to spend time in the service of those who need it most. Our international organization’s commitment to Ronald McDonald House Charities has led to the donation of over $15,000,000 over the course of our partnership. More than 350 Ronald McDonald Houses in 64 countries help keep families with seriously ill or injured children together when they need it most by offering them a comfortable, temporary residence in proximity to a medical facility.

Every year, Beta Eta hosts a picnic at the ADPi house complete with music, lawn games, raffles, and a cookout with hotdogs, hamburgers, watermelon and more!  We invite our friends, our family, our fellow Panhellenic and Interfraternity Council members, and alumnae.  We hosted out 2021 ADPicnic in September and we raised over $8,000 in support of the Ronald McDonald House of Ann Arbor, the Ronald McDonald House Charities Endowment of Alpha Delta Pi, and the Alpha Delta Pi Foundation, which provides resources for the educational, leadership and philanthropic activities of the Sorority and its members.

Since we are lucky enough to have a Ronald McDonald House (RMH) right in Ann Arbor, Beta Eta loves to be involved as much as possible with the organization, as we hold the charity very near and dear to our hearts.  Our philanthropy chair organizes cookdates once a month at the RMH that our sisters can attend and help make a meal for the families staying in the home.  Spots to attend cookdates fill up almost instantly as it is one of our favorite ways to support RMH.  We also organize seasonal events to provide support to RMH.  To provide just a couple examples, in the fall we decorate pumpkins and donate them to RMH as decoration and around Valentine’s Day we make cards to give to the families staying at the home.

During COVID-19, we have gotten creative with Zoom events and dine to donate partnerships that have helped us raise over $3,300 for RMHC Ann Arbor. We introduced a new Pi Day event, where our chapter went head to head against a fraternity on campus in a pie eating, bubble gum blowing competition. Through donation bingo boards posted on instagram and facebook, we raised over $2,000 in donations from this event. For the rest of the year, we are looking forward to participating in more Zoom philanthropy events and looking for more virtual ways to support RMHC.
